Don't travel north on the Alaska Highway unless absolutely necessary

The Ministry of Highways is advising against travel on the Alaska Highway north of Fort St. John due to the extreme weather conditions.

The highway remains extremely icy in areas stretching from Fort St. John to Fort Nelson. Freezing Rain in Fort Nelson has caused a travel advisory to be put in place. Travel is not recommended unless absolutely necessary, travel with extreme caution.
