Commons Showdown

Less than seven weeks after the last federal election, a showdown is already shaping up in the House of Commons.
The three opposition parties vow to vote against the Tories fiscal update on Monday which would topple the minority government .
However, it might not trigger another federal election, as the opposition is informally exploring the idea, of forming a governing coalition.
In the update, it was revealed Ottawa’s budget surplus took a nosedive, between April 1st and September 30th, down 89 per cent over the same time last year.
The government blames it partly, on lower revenue from corporate taxes and the GST…but, the opposition’s primary concern is the government’s proposal to drop public funding for all political parties, as one of the measures to boost the sputtering economy.,
