The senior Flyers extended their winning streak to eight games with a lop-sided win over Lakeland on Saturday night.
Kip Noble set the pace, scoring the first goal only 19 seconds in – it was a sign it would be a long night for the Eagles goalies.
Lakeland never really managed to get in the game, despite some hard-fought battles in previous games between the clubs.
At the end of the game, the score was 15-2 in favour of the Flyers. Jeff Kalb led the way, scoring 4 goals. After not playing in a couple of years, Kalb says he’s starting to get back to where he used to be.
Dustin Kersey added a hat-trick against his former team, while other Flyers goals were scored by, Todd Alexander (2), Kip Noble (2), Arlo Hadland, Bryan Lewis, Brett Loney, and Luke Middleton.
Ryan Bjorklund had the win in goal, stopping 12 of the 14 shots he faced. Billy Beaudry and Nelson Tallman teamed up for the Eagles, and though Beaudry had some sensational saves, they faced 48 shots between them.
The Flyers have now wrapped up the 2 game series with Lakeland, beating them by a combined score of 27-3.
The Flyers next game is Friday Dec. 5th, at home to Fairview. The next night, Fort St. John visits the Peace River Stampeders.
