A blazing gas well in northeastern B-C that has been burning out of control for almost two weeks has now been snuffed.
ConocoPhillips says it managed to stop the flow of gas to the Ground Birch area well and put out the fire late yesterday afternoon. No one was injured over the duration of the blaze and the company says the health or safety of area residents was never at risk.
The fire was sparked during routine drilling and ConocoPhillips continues to work with provincial officials to review the incident.
