The City of Fort St. John’s Strategic Planning and Finance Committee will kick off its 2009 budget discussions today, and it’s asking the public to come out and listen.
The first in a series of meetings for the committee will be held November 17th at 3:00pm in Council Chambers.
Council will offer presentations that go to next year’s utility rates and tax ratios.
It is expected to be the first in a lengthy series of budget discussions for the newly elected mayor and council.
It will follow a process this year, that has been widely criticized by both business and residential taxpayers but, vigorously defended by the current mayor and council.
