Mayoral candidate Bruce Lantz says his camp is not behind the recent release of a controversial leaflet urging citizens not to vote for the incumbent mayor and council.

The leaflet, which was left on windshields of cars in local parking lots this weekend, contained typed text, as well as a hand written comment urging the reader to vote for Lantz.

Lantz says he wants to assure the public that no one in his campaign was behind the leaflet. [asset|aid=617|format=mp3player|formatter=asset_bonus|title=9e12ab628207858c1de7af38831b475c-Lantz-dunno_1_Pub.mp3]

After a public complaint about the leaflet yesterday, Chief Electoral Officer Janet Prestley issued a warning to all candidates that any connection with the leaflet could result in their disqualification.
