Chetwynd completes 2 infrastructure projects

Peace River South MLA Blair Lekstrom was on hand today, as the town of Chetwynd cut the ribbons on a couple of infrastructure projects.

It began with the official opening of Chetwynd’s new airport terminal building, and continued with the ceremonial “turning on” of the new water and sewer system on Westgate Road, in the southeastern area of town.

Lekstrom says the provincial government contributed $250,000 to the new airport terminal building, which had been needing an upgrade and modernization.

Meanwhile, $400,000 was contributed towards the water and sewer system, which will serve 9 lots, the museum, and the cemetery.
