NDP win BC Byelections

The N-D-P has narrowed the gap in the BC legislature with two byelection victories, in metro Vancouver ridings.

Jenn McGinn and Spencer Herbert defeated Liberal opponents yesterday and, as a result the Liberal majority in the legislature has been reduced to eleven…45 to 34. NDP Leader Carole James says the by-election results prove BC voters are angry with Premier Campbell and, she claims her party is on the way to victory in next May’s, general election. The turnout in both ridings was less than 30 percent.
