The plans for Fort St. John’s newest neighbourhood have gotten a stamp of approval from the Northern Environmental Action Team Executive Director Sally Emory.
Emory, who participated in this week’s intensive planning process for the 20 hectare site between 86th Street and the East Bypass Road, says she’s pleased with the green features proposed for the neighbourhood so far.

Emory also added that she’s excited about a proposed composting partnership with the hospital, which is located on a corner adjacent to the site.
The design for the neighbourhood was revealed last night at a public forum. Some of the proposed features for the new neighbourhood include a community garden, a multipurpose civic centre, an alternative school, and a citadel.
