Duplex Fire Update

In turns out a fire early this morning in a top and bottom duplex in Fort St. John was more serious, than an initial RCMP release, indicated.

Fire Chief Fred Burrows confirms it occurred shortly before 2.30, at 8821 101st avenue.

He also confirms the fire is believed to have started near garbage bags located near the front porch and, then spread up the front of the building…

There was also smoke and contents damage and, chief Burrows estimates the damage, at about 20 thousand dollars…

There were no injuries reported and, police say they have no reason to believe the fire was of a suspicious nature.
