Knights of Columbus Bantam AA Flyers battle with Dawson Creek Canucks in two game series.

The game against Dawson Creek KFC Bantam AA Canucks on Saturday was a roller coaster ride to a tie game at 5-5. Dawson Creek started aggressively, scoring two goals within two minutes of each other, eight minutes into the game. This was answered by a power play goal scored by Jade McMullin, assisted by Wyatt Anderson and Brent Leowan. The Canucks returned fire with another goal at 4:27 near the end of the first period. The Flyers struck back on a power play goal by Blair Karasuik , assisted by Logan Daneluk with a minute and thirty five seconds remaining in the first period. The Flyers came out in the second period trailing 3-2. Karasuik scored from a pass from Daneluk at 16:43. This was a fine example of skill and effort as Daneluk was falling to the ice while making the pass to Karasuik. Dawson Creek fired back with two more goals making the score 5-3 at the end of the second period. A determined Flyers team came out in the third period and scored two more goals, one by McMullin, assisted by Shallow and another goal was scored by Karasuik, assisted by Daneluk and Sam Aitken. The contest finished at 5-5. Goalie Daimon Derioun played well, deflecting many shots on net, helping to keep the Flyers in the game.

The Knights of Columbus Bantam AA Flyers took their game to Dawson Creek on Sunday. The tight competition between the two teams continued as they fought hard though a scoreless two periods. Netminder Turner Gullikson was superb in keeping the puck out of the net. The game finally turned in the Flyers favour during the third period when Blair Karasuik scored with 5:46 remaining. He was assisted by Dallas Trim and Logan Daneluk. This was followed by another goal on an open net by Brent Leowan assisted by Karasuik. Final score 2 – 0 for the Knights of Columbus Bantam AA Flyers.
