Moose FM has received reports that a diesel shortage which has been slowly creeping across western Canada may soon leave tanks at Fort St. John cardlocks dry.
The shortage is the result of an unanticipated demand for the fuel. News outlets in the Edmonton area are reporting that multiple cardlock stations there have already been forced to close their pumps after they ran out of fuel.
The increased level of demand for diesel only aggravates a difficult situation for Petro Canada, which is already struggling with low fuel reserves as their Edmonton refinery, which closed earlier this year, is still offline.
Petro Canada’s spokespeople have so far today been unavailable for comment.
