RCMP crack down on dangerous driving this weekend with Operation Impact

This Thanksgiving weekend, RCMP are reminding the public of the importance of safe driving through Operation Impact, a national initiative to make Canada’s roads the safest in the world.

Locally, RCMP say there have been 12 deaths and numerous significant injuries on our roads over the last year. They feel that number is “unnacceptable,” and they’re asking the public to be extra cautious when driving this long weekend.

In particular, police want drivers to use their seat belts, avoid drinking and driving, and use courtesy on the road.
