A group of British Columbian employers held their first-ever job fair in the Phillipines today.
The fair, held in Quezon City in Metro Manila, was an opportunity for BC employers to recruit workers into the labour-strapped hospitality industry in the province.
The event is hosted by the Philippine Overseas Employment Agency, a Philippine government corporation that pre-screens Filipino workers for Canadian recruiters.
Back in Canada, the Philippine government has set up a labour office in Vancouver to connect BC’s employers with the workers and to support the workers during their stay.
