In the wake of booming oil and gas land rights sales this year, the provincial government has declared October 5th to 11th “Oil and Gas Week”.

The Province has established the week to recognize a record-breaking year for positive revenue and industry growth in the oil and gas sector.

Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources Minister Richard Neufeld says the announcement represents the province’s commitment to encouraging growth in the oil and gas industry to ensure future economic growth, jobs, and opportunities for British Columbians.

The announcement comes as the local Oil and Gas Conference gets underway this week in Fort St. John.
