American kidnappers headed back to US

The mother and stepfather of a girl who disappeared in South Dakota two years ago have been arrested in Dawson Creek, and at this hour are on a flight out of Fort St. John. The U.S. Marshal’s Service says Perry and Eileen Sharp were positively identified on Monday and, arrangements are being made for the missing girl to be returned to her father in the U.S. She was eight years old when she was to have been returned to Layne Peterson of Hitchcock, South Dakota, on Aug. 15, 2006, after attending summer school in Idaho. Mr. Peterson had been granted full custody a month earlier. However, police allege the Sharps, fled South Dakota with the girl, about three days in advance of the return date and, later that month, the FBI obtained a warrant for the couple. The Marshal’s Service says a tip was received last Friday and, involved a person who had worked with Perry Sharp in Dawson Creek. The tipster said he saw a picture of Sharp on the website of `America’s Most Wanted’ but, that he knew Sharp, as Bobby Evans. The tipster also said Eileen Sharp – was using the name Dorothy Evans and the missing girl was known as Shannon Evans.
