Police have now confirmed that a Grande Prairie woman has died in hospital after being involved in a motorcycle crash over the weekend.
Early Saturday evening, the 46-year-old woman was riding on the back of a motorcycle in Grande Prairie when the driver, a 48-year-old male, lost control of the bike while making a turn.
The driver, who was also from Grande Prairie, was treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
The woman, who was airlifted to Edmonton hospital, succumbed to her injuries Sunday morning.
Police have not released the name of the woman pending notification of next of kin.
