Fort St. John RCMP are reminding drivers to be cautious as winter weather approaches.
Last Friday, local RCMP and Peace Region Traffic Services executed a 24-hour crackdown on bad driving in and around Fort St. John. The team issued numerous tickets for speeding, running stop signs and not wearing seat belts.
RCMP also took six impaired drivers off the road over the 24-hour initiative, including an impaired 19-year-old male with eight intoxicated passengers. That driver had a blood alcohol reading of twice the legal limit.
Police ask anyone who sees a vehicle operating in a dangerous manner to note the license plate, the direction of travel and a vehicle description in order to better assist the RCMP.
The Fort St. John detachment also thanks local drivers who practice safe driving, saying their efforts do not go unnoticed by RCMP.
