Nomination papers for this year’s November 15th Civic Election will be available this year online at the City of Fort St. John website, as well as city hall.
They can be filed beginning at 9am on September 30th, one week from today, and the deadline for filing is 4pm on October 10th. To date none of the incumbent city council candidates nor Mayor Eglinski has officially announced re-election plans. However, there are signs interest is running higher than normal, and dissatisfaction with this year’s budget process is expected to be the key campaign issue.
There’s also speculation that may draw one or more of those who publicly expressed concerns about residential and business tax increases during the multi-draft process into the council and/or mayoralty races.
