Fort St. John is now considerably closer to their goal of a CT Scanner by January, thanks to a recent $100,000 donation.

At a press conference today the Hospital Foundation announced that Canadian Natural Resources Limited had donated the funds, bringing the total funds raised to date to over $800,000 dollars. The Hospital Foundation hopes to raise the remainder of the $1.3 million dollar price tag for the Toshiba 64-Slice Scanner by January, with a mind to having the unit in operation by spring.

Hospital Foundation Executive Director Janice Isberg says she’s been overwhelmed by the generosity so far in the campaign, but that it’s all part of living in Fort St. John. [asset|aid=305|format=mp3player|formatter=asset_bonus|title=Janice Isberg – Get it Done_1_Pub.mp3]

The hospital has already begun renovations to accommodate the scanner.
