Fort St. John’s Joseph Laboucan made only a brief appearance in court Thursday morning.
Laboucan has had is case, where he’s accused of killing an Edmonton prostitute, put over until the October 30th. He has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of Ellie May Meyer. Her body was found by a farmer tilling his field just east of Edmonton in May of 2005.
The arrest of Laboucan happened last week at the federal penitentiary in Prince Albert, Sask., where he is serving a life sentence for killing an Edmonton teen.
Ellie May Meyer was last seen on April 1st, 2005, two days before Nina Courtepatte was killed.
Joseph Laboucan was one of several people convicted in a the death of Nina Courtepatte. At the age of 13 she was sexually assaulted and beaten to death in April 2005 on a golf course outside of Edmonton.
Laboucan is currently appealing his conviction in the case of Nina Courtepatte.
