Premier Campbell is expected to get an earful next week, about the carbon tax, at the Union of BC Municipalities Association convention, in Penticton.
It will hear a dozen resolutions, mostly from northern communities, asking for relief from the tax.
The province instituted the 2.4 cent a liter hike on Canada Day, insisting it would be revenue neutral.
However, civic politicians in the north argue, it can’t be revenue neutral, when it has more impact on people in the north, than those in the south.
Communities proposing tax resolutions include Fort St. John but, they have been boiled down to one special resolution, which will be debated when the main convention begins on Wednesday morning.
The Premier’s response is expected to come on Friday, when he delivers his annual convention address.
