Local postal workers are hoping to fill the shelves at the Salvation Army Food Bank this weekend with your help.

This Saturday (September 20th) marks the 9th annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. Starting at 9:00 a.m., postal workers and other volunteers will be walking Canada Post routes to pick up donations of food and hygiene products for the local food bank.

Organizer Lori Fox says the organization chose September for the food drive because it’s often a tough time of year for families in need.

Residents who would like to participate in the plan can leave their items in a grocery bag by their mailbox before 9:00 a.m. this Saturday (September 20th).

Rural Route and Suburban Service customers can participate by leaving items in their mail boxes until Friday (September 19th).
