In the wake of an RCMP investigation into the shooting of a puppy on Quadra Island, a local cat has been shot with a child’s bow and arrow.
Jane Chelle, who lives near Mile 54 in Charlie Lake, says yesterday she found her cat, Patches, laying on her bathroom floor with an arrow sticking out of its side.
Luckily, the arrow didn’t kill the animal. However, Chelle says the arrow appears to be from a junior compound bow set, and she’s worried that an unsupervised child may be behind the shooting.
Chelle is asking parents to supervise their children when they’re playing with weapons.

BC SPCA Spokesperson Marcy Moriarty says that if the shooter was indeed a child, then she worries for the welfare of that child, as well as for the animal.
