Following a jump of more than four cents a litre the previous week, the average price of gasoline in Canada dropped about two cents last week.
According to the latest 60-city cross-country weekly survey of Calgary-based MJ Ervin and Associates, the national average was $1.30. There was no change in the Fort St. John price, which the Ervin monitor puts at $1.412, off a common posted price of $1.424.
That posted price however remains nearly five cents a litre higher than the same price in Dawson Creek, and twelve cents higher than the price at the FasGas station just across the Alberta border at Demmitt. Fort St. John is also now the only survey city in BC with a price above $1.40 a litre.
The survey’s six-city BC average is $1.376, which is 11 cents higher than the five-city average price in Alberta.
