A Grande Prairie doctor accused of sexual assault will have to wait until April to find out if he will go to trial.
Dr. Paliswami Murthi was in Grande Prairie provincial court last week to set a date for his preliminary hearing on charges that he sexually assaulted four of his patients. In June Murthi was charged with five counts of sexual assault, one count of sexual exploitation, one count of sexual interference and two charges of assault. The alleged assaults occurred at his two practices in the Grande Prairie area between 2001 and 2007. The complainants include two youths, one male and one female.
Murthi’s preliminary hearing will be held April 28th.
