BC Stats has broken down the August jobless numbers, which show the seasonally adjusted provincial unemployment rate fell, to four point two, from four point three percent in July. That is well below the national average of six point one percent but, it in turn is lower than the ratesin three regions of the province. They include the Northeast at six point three percent, as well as the Cairboo and North Coast/Nechako regions, at seven point two and seven point six percent respectively. Overall however, among the ten provinces, BC’s year-to-date employment growth rate is second only to Alberta’s. In addition, the BC economy is on track to again out-perform the nation’s, which the ruling Liberals are quick to point out, is something it has done every year since 2003.
