After weeks of speculation it’s now official, Canadians will head to the polls on October 14th.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper paid a visit to the Governor General Sunday morning asked that the minority government be dissolved.
“We have come to the moment that requires the people of Canada to choose the way forward,” Harper said.
“Our government is offering a clear direction,” he said.
In the Prince George Peace River Ridining we only have two confirmed candidates for this area – Jay Hill, from the Conservative Party, had held this seat since 1993. Following the Conservative Party`s election as Canada`s new government in 2006, he was appointed Chief Government Whip and sworn into the Privy Council of Canada. In January of 2007, Prime Minister Harper promoted Jay to the Ministry as a Secretary of State.
Going up against Jay Hill, Betty Beckering is running for the NDP.
