GP Doctor's Hearing Date Set Monday

A Grande Prairie doctor charged with several counts of sexual assault will be appearing in court Monday to set a date for his preliminary hearing.

Dr.Palaniswami Easwara Murthi is alleged to have sexually assaulted several of his patients since opening his practice in Grande Prairie in 2001.

Murthi was arrested in June of this year. Charges against him include five counts of sexual assault, one count of sexual exploitation and one count of sexual interference.

The charges pertain to interactions with both adult and youth patients.
