RCMP Jail and Bail Tomorrow

Two local RCMP officers are hoping to raise more than 10,000 dollars for the Canadian Cancer Society with this year’s annual “Jail and Bail” tomorrow.

The fundraiser allows members of the community to nominate one another to be arrested for “offences” ranging from posing as a senior to using sarcasm as a weapon. Offenders will be “jailed” in a pen in the Totem Mall and asked to pay a set donation in lieu of “bail.”
Last year’s Fort St. John “Jail and Bail” raised nearly 30,000 dollars for the Canadian Cancer Society. Fort St. John RCMP Constable Jeff Jackson is participating in the fundraiser for the second year.

The fundraiser is being held in conjunction with the Cops for Cancer Tour De North, an annual event that sees RCMP officers cycle from Prince George to Prince Rupert.
Proceeds from the tour support pediatric cancer research and programs that benefit kids with cancer and their families. For those looking to have a friend or coworker apprehended, arrest forms are available at local businesses and the Fort St. John RCMP detachment.
