HandyDart Service Expansion

Beginning September 8th, Fort St. John HandyDart service will be increased by 50 percent and, will include the addition of a new bus.

The expanded service is possible in part through funding announced by the province in April, aimed at doubling province-wide transit ridership by 20/20.

Including the 139 thousand dollar price tag for the new bus, the total cost of the service expansion will be 319 thousand dollars and, the province is providing nearly two thirds of it.

The rest is coming from the city, the PRRD, and the District of Taylor.

Mayor Eglinski notes over the past couple of years, there has been a steady increase in demand, for the service.

It runs from 8am to 4pm Monday through Friday and, also provides fixed route service for all riders to Taylor and Charlie Lake.
