Three Fort St. John residents have been arrested, charged and remanded in custody until September 17th, in connection with an assault and kidnapping case this week.
The RCMP says it started about 8 o’clock Monday night, at a city drinking establishment, when an unidentified victim was beaten by several males.
They say he was then forced into a vehicle, taken to another location and, assaulted again with weapons.
By the time he was found by police he had suffered significant but, non-life threatening injuries and, was taken to Fort St. John hospital.
Two of the suspects now in custody were arrested at the scene of the second assault but, it was Tuesday before the third one was apprehended.
The accused men have been identified as Matthew Handley, Michael Telford and, Eric Zetner.
They’ve been charged with extortion, assault causing bodily harm, two counts of assault with a weapon and, kidnapping.
Police believe the incident has organized crime and, cocaine trafficking connections…and, they’re still attempting to locate other suspects believed to have been involved.
