Local area motorists headed south on the Alaska Highway this morning are advised to be prepared for travel delays near Dawson Creek.
The RCMP confirms there has been what our initial on-the-scene report suggests could be a serious accident. That report puts the site at about Mile 12 of the Alaska Highway and indicates the crash occurred between 10 and 10.30 am.
We’re also told it appears at least two vehicles were involved, a pickup and a semi-trailer unit, possibly a tanker truck.
There’s no police confirmation yet of a highway closure but given the serious nature of this report, it would certainly seem to be a strong possibilty.
