The latest report on the size of the wildfire northeast of Fort St. John, near the Osborne River, indicates it remains about 340 hectares. Spokesperson Jillian Chimko has also indicated, that 80 fire fighters have been given a big assist, by the overnight rainfall in the area. Also assisted by four helicopters and five pieces of heavy equipment, they’ve succeeded in halting the spreadof the fireand, at last wordit was moving into a previously burnt area. The ligthning started blaze is not near any commercial or residential property but, it has been responsible for a lot of smoke in the Fort St. John area. However, authorities say it does not, and never did, represent a health danger.
