The search for a missing swimmer has wrapped up for today.
North Peace Search and Rescue will finish up there search for a missing swimmer by 10pm tonight.
The swimmer is believed to have been swept away by the current as he swam with friends in the Pine River. The accident occured today around 2pm when a group of people where swimming in the Pine River near the junction with the Peace River.
North Peace Search and Rescue with the help of the Taylor Fire Department and the Fort St. John RCMP started the search for the missing man. A helicopter and several river boats where used in the search.
The search will resume tomorrow morning. This Pine and Peace River are running at high levels at the moment and the currents are extremely strong. Anyone using the rivers around Fort St. John and the North Peace should use extreme caution.
