Peace River Bus Beating

RCMP say a man walking to the bathroom from his seat, on a chartered bus, was beaten by another passenger.

Peace River RCMP say the attack took place yesterday at about 4:30pm. The bus was going from Peace River to Fort Smith, in the Northwest Territories.

The man was taken to Peace River hospital, then airlifted to an Edmonton facility, for specialized treatment for a broken nose and other facial injuries.

The mounties say it’s unclear if the attack was the result of a prior conflict, between the two people.

Lyle Frank Emile, 25, of Fort Smith, is charged with aggravated assault, and is scheduled to appear in Peace River provincial court on Monday.
