It didn’t quite match last month’s record in government revenue but, there was another huge sale of oil and gas rights, in Northeast BC, yesterday.
It resulted in almost 502 million dollars in bonus bids and, unofficially that puts the calendar year record total, at more than 2 billion dollars, with four months to go.
It also pushes the fiscal year total to more than 1.8 billion and, it means sales in the past two months alone, have equalled last year’s, 12 month record total.
131 of the 139 parcels offered yesterday were purchased, putting the average price over 43 hundred dollars.
The next sale is scheduled for the 10th of September.
