The Books on Busses program will get a three month trial in Fort St. John.
Originally scheduled to be a 12 month trial, program Director Michelle Laboucane told city council on Monday night that the trail period has been shortened, due in part, to some concerns by Diversified Transportation. Laboucane says Diversified has been worried about the potential for books being left around the busses, or even ripped up and littered on the floor. But, Laboucane says a trail in Chilliwack has shown that not to be too serious a concern. She says she has plenty of books, and she’s ready to start.

As for the concern that people might steal the books, Laboucane says that’s just fine by her.
