B.C. Statistics has released the fine print from the Statistics Canada report on the July jobless numbers.
It shows Northeastern B.C. with a rate well above the seasonally adjusted provincial average of 4.4%.
The local regional rate was 6.2%, which is even slightly higher than July’s national average of 6.1%.
The Vancouver Island/Sunshine Coast region had the lowest B.C. rate at 3.8%, with the Northwest Coast the highest at 7.5%.
Among municipalities, the forest industry woes of the Provincial Interior were underlined by the Prince George rate, which was 7.6%.
