The BC Forest Service is reporting 3 Fires around the Fort St. John area today.

All three of the fires are less than a hectare in size with no fire crews actioning those fires. Two were started by ligthning last night, the other was started by a camp fire. As for the fire up at Tommy Lakes the Rhino Fire Crew from Fort St. John is working the fire that is 14.4 hectares in size. The fire is completely contained and has received some rain in the last few days.

The BC Forest Service is once again reminding the public the Fire Danger Rating here in the North Peace is High to Extreme. Due to continued risk of lightning the BC Forest Service reminds the public to use extreme caution when lighting any fires. Human caused fires divert critical resources from naturally occurring fires caused by lightning.
