Dawson Creek Knife Mugging

A Dawson Creek Man is in police custody after a weekend armed robbery in that city. An RCMP press release says at 10:45 on Saturday night, the detachment received a report of an armed robbery in the Silverado Hotel. The report likely came from the victim, who claims he was approached with a knife, and relieved of an undisclosed amount of money. Later on that night, a man matching the victim’s description was taken into police custody. He was taken into a police lineup, where he was positively identified by the victim. The suspect, an 18 year old Dawson Creek resident, was scheduled to make his first court appearance today in Dawson Creek. The RCMP told us today that due to provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, he cannot be identified.
