Short-list for who's going to build Hospital

Two bidding teams with a variety of members, who represent BC based companies as well as national and international firms, have been identified as the short-listed qualified proponents for construction of the new Fort St. John hospital. The teams are Peace River Healthcare Solutions and ISL Health.

The request for qualifications closed on July 8th and Peace River North MLA Richard Neufeld says today’s announcement demonstrates the significance and importance attached to the project by the Provincial government.

Construction of all the facilities included in the east-end project is expected to begin next year, with completion targeted for 2011. It will include a 55-bed, 161,000 square foot hospital, a 123-bed residential seniors’ care facility, and an intergrated services buidling.

Northern Health will retain ownership of the 40 acre site donated by the City, east of 86th Street and west and south of the East Bypass Road.
