Day Two at the Canadian Women's Amateur

Day Two at the Canadian Women’s Amateur championships is now in the bag.

On Tuesday’s Day One, it was Banff’s Nicole Forshner leading the way, and she made it happen again on Day Two, especially on the back 9; she had 6 birdies on the last 11 holes. Forshner retains her lead, as she sits at 3 under par.

Fort St. John’s Kirby Dreher came into the day at 4 over and she shot another 76 today. It was a little more of a roller coaster for Kirby today, with 2 birdies, 4 bogeys, and a double on 12, so at the end of Day Two Dreher is tied for 28th spot at 8 over par.

She will certainly make the cut though, and it is very tight up top, leaving the field wide open heading into the final two days at Winnipeg’s Elmhurst Golf and Country Club.

Dreher is also one of four players on team B.C. at the event. B.C. came into today’s action with a 2 stroke lead over Ontario, but Ontario has fought back, they now sit at 5 over par, with Quebec in second at 12 over, and B.C. in third, at 13 over par.
