Greyhound Bus Stabbing

Public Safety Minister Stockwell Day calls it horrific — but extremely rare.

He was commenting on the gruesome Trans-Canada Highway attack on a Greyhound bus last night, near Portage La Prairie, Manitoba.

RCMP officers surrounded the bus and eventually arrested a man but are still withholding most of the case details. There are unofficial reports the attacker used a large type of knife on another man who apparently didn’t even know him.

The incident left the victim dead and, according to witnesses, decapitated.

Mr. Day did not offer any specific opinion on the sale of large hunting knives in Canada or whether safety can be boosted at bus stations.
