The Canadian Women’s Amateur Championships began on Wednesday, and Fort St. John’s Kirby Dreher is one of 9 B.C. golfers who made the trip to Winnipeg for the competition.
After one round at the Elmhurst Golf and Country Club, it’s Banff’s Nicole Forshner with a one stroke lead – she shot a 2 under par 70. As for Dreher, she shot a 4 over par 76 in her first round, to leave her 6 back of the leader.
Dreher is also part of the 4-player team B.C., which after one round is leading the way. B.C. sits at 3 over par, 2 strokes up on second place Ontario, and five shots ahead of third place Alberta.
The competition continues through Friday.
