The latest cross-Canada price survey is due out and is expected to show another drop in the national average. That’s because crude oil prices are still falling and dipped below $121 US a barrel this morning.
The price has now fallen about $25 from its peak early this month and gasoline prices in many parts of North America have dropped as well. They’re down as much as $0.20 a litre in some centres in Canada and in last week’s survey had dipped below $1.30 in many cities in Alberta and Ontario.
However, here in Fort St. John the common posted price hasn’t changed since it hit a new record high at $1.454, with the introduction of the Provincial Carbon Tax on Canada Day.
