Wildfire Danger

Given the current weather forecast it comes as no surprise that the Prince George Fire Centre has issued a warning urging weekend campers to exercise extreme caution with campfires.

The fire danger ratings across the Centre range from Moderate to High, with areas of Extreme now reported in the Peace and Robson Valley.

Prior to today, fire crews had responded to only 5 fires this week. However, in addition to the hot dry weather today, the Centre is also concerned about the possibility of lightning strikes during forecasted thunderstorm activity late tomorrow and Sunday.
