Charges are pending against an unidentified man now in police custody in Grande Prairie, after he was arrested early yesterday for packing a handgun in the downtown sector of the city.
Mounties say he had the gun when he visited a casino earlier and then intimidated the cab driver who took him downtown. He dumped the gun when police showed up. The police say they don’t think he fired the weapon and they didn’t find any ammunition for it.
The suspect was arrested without incident.
