Missing Dynamite

The RCMP continues to hunt for the person or persons responsible for the theft of an undisclosed amount of dynamite last week in the South Peace.

During the overnight period from July 15th to 16th, thieves broke open two locked magazines in a remote wooded area near Chetwynd.

Police say each stick of stolen dynamite is 60 mm in length, weighs 2 kg, is in a red plastic casing marked "Dyno Vibrogel", and attached to a 65′ yellow cord.

RCMP are concerned about the possibility of improper storage and/or transporation. Thus, they’re asking anyone who has seen the explosives or who has any information about the theft, to call 911 immediately.

Public information calls are also being received at all local area RCMP detachments and on the toll-free Crime Stoppers number…1-800-222-8477.
