HiTech Truck Tracking

The Provincial Ministry of Highways is getting into high tech travel tracking, focusing on heavy-duty long-distance commercial trucking.

Communications Manager Dave Crebo says the Ministry will use satellite tracking to follow trucks on 36 prdefined provincial highway links over a 3 month period, beginning August 1st. The idea is to locate and reduce traffic bottlenecks…

Among other things, the satellite tracking will record the speed of truck travel between designated points.
